fyodorpavlov:

I have been sitting on this one for a while now, and I’m so excited to finally share this. A few months ago, I had the honor and pleasure of being photographed by Rose Callahan for her amazing Dandy Portraits: The Lives of Exquisite Gentlemen Today project (also on Tumblr). Well, the blog has blossomed into this stunning coffee table book, I Am Dandy: The Return of the Elegant Gentleman, and it just became available for pre-order on Amazon. The book will be officially released in September in Europe and October internationally (including the US), and will feature some real treasures from Rose’s beautiful project. As well as, I’m humbled to say, me. I haven’t even seen the pictures yet, but I’m so incredibly thrilled!
On the cover is the incomparable Massimiliano Mocchia di Coggiola.

To me, this post might be just as important as the bible.

One of my classes. My elderly teacher taught us this because he really cared about books.

Why does no one teach us these things anymore?

I get so uppity when someone breaks the binding on my books.

I’m just a terrible person and the first thing I do with big books is break the binding.

This needs to be reblogged. Just in case this manages to reach someone who might in the future borrow a book of mine, and who might otherwise bring my wrath down upon them by mistreating said book.

Interesting to see the lining made of such a good fabric considering the lining was never seen and this was normally considered a waste of money and materials. Also, that is the most perfect pattern matching I have ever seen on a sack back.

Detachable Collars on sale on my Storenvy!

CUTE!

I often post progress pics of what I’m working on to my FB page!
This is a commissioned JSK in progress… just the front of the bodice is assembled. The bodice has a fairly complex construction with some sections having as many as 5 layers (2 types of interfacing, base fabric, overlay, and eventually lining).  If you ever want to see the very latest thing I’m working on please follow me on fb as well :D

Twilight Galaxy Skirt!

Saw these fabrics at the store yesterday while I was swatching some stuff for school and really couldn’t help myself.

Silk Bolero with Ruffle Trim

Self is khaki silk dupioni, lining is champagne silk taffeta. Hand applied trim and hand slipped armscyes makes this piece one of my more couture lolita items I’ve made lately. The grain of the fabric matches at the shoulder and side seams, only shifting at the center back princess seams. Comes with matching removable rose pin. Pricing upon inquiry. This piece was a commission but can be remade for another client.
